New Year's Movie Theater: "The Truth About Communism"

Launched two years ago, on the 90th October Revolution´s Anniversary, this documentary presents the violent rise of the Soviet Empire from the chaos of Revolution to the terror of the Cold War and is charted using remarkable footage of actual events.

Special interest is the subject of the Spanish Revolution. This is the best collection of historical film footage on the topic of World Communism ever assembled. Featuring an introduction from Alexander Kerensky, President of Russia following the Revolution that deposed the Czar Regime and before the Communist took over.

Remarkable is that the goal of World Communism, according to the theories of Marx and Lenin, was originally believed to be triggered by wars, general mayhem or violent revolution, and pitting one social class against another.

Since it was always hard to agitate the proletariat into rebellion, Leftists sought succor elsewhere and found it with the Fabians and Social Democracy - or incremental Socialism through mob rule (rather like, voting in Sharia Law). Opposing groups also do not have to be social classes per se: these might as well be gender, racial, cultural, ideological or religious groups pitted against whoever is in power.

Since the fall of the Iron Curtain - the impenetrable barrier to keep freedom out and the slaves to the 'ethical whole' in (there was a reason for that!) - they approach the matter from another angle yet. Like during the Cold War countries were infiltrated and bored from within, international institutions and the 'narrative' of Greenism form the perfect venues for the launch of yet another power grab. It goes by many names, but the proper one should be Neo Communism (if only, because it blows the cover).

Of Farce, Oscuridad and Re-Re-Conquista

Yesterday I promised a regular participant in these pages (hi, High) to produce an 'obscure' post. An entire post goes against the grain, but here's an obscure statement if there ever was one. Brussels Journal yesterday published an article, authored by Soeren Kern, Senior Analyst for Transatlantic Relations at the Madrid based Strategic Studies Group.

"Spain’s Policy of Appeasing Terrorists Backfires" deals with the Iberian version of Atilla the Hun and his destructive policies. In a statement of utter obscurity it reads: "Confirming the growing suspicion that José Zapatero’s post-modern approach to fighting terrorism lacks a basis in reality, he told TIME Magazine in September 2004 that ‘sexual equality is a lot more effective against terrorism than military strength’. Digest that for obscurity, for a moment.

That is, on the part of 'the epitome of a postmodern appeaser', not the author Soeren Kern evidently, whose description of Zapatero's "multicultural group therapy" shines a brilliant light over otherwise disastrous political recklessness for the sake of it, that can only facilitate to further the Re-Re-Conquista of Al Andalus and beyond, the Maghreb, the West.

- In Afghanistan this week, the kidnapping of Italian reporter for La Repubblica newspaper Daniele Mastrogiacomo, his driver, and his interpreter ended with the freeing of the first of these and the killing of the other two, both of them Muslims. Chiesa.com on Friday reproduced an article written by Islam expert Khaled Fouad Allam, which La Repubblica published on 11th April.

In "A totalitarian Islam" he explains the finer points of the fault lines within Islam, which are not just the more well-known Sunni versus Shia divide, but also a totalitarian versus mystic one. There's our answer towards the Religion of Peace: we should be supporting the Sufis!

- And while we are on the subject: the enemy is herewith on notice that any attack between today and two years hence will not be subject to any significant counter activity. This is the delivery time required to get fresh ammo and canteen supplies to the Dutch N.A.T.O. mission in Uruzgan, Afghanistan (ISAF III). Since this hazardous situation will not stand - and I'm sure the unions won't have it either - Dutch Command has let it be known they'll throw in the towel in 2008, totalitarian Islam or a mystical one. A sense of farce never was a Dutch forte.

- And as we find Canadian confirmation that multiculturalism indeed leads to ghettos, sectarianism and insularity, the most multicultural city on earth is moving on to 'metaculturalism' - and here they loose me - to syncretism. The term alludes me in the cultural context, but what could be meant, is what's called 'Truthiness', a religious smorgasbord of whatever suits your Individual Personality. The good news is that this particular piece of nasty social engineering might at last be fazing out once our governments get the message. Some cultures may after all survive the onslaught, more or less. And here's for the aficionados amongst us: metaculturalism does go towards Choice! This is promising a lot of fun, culture hopping. It may come in the nick of time to pick up a few pieces, of what's left of Britain.

- As Turkish National Islamists do their utmost to give God a bad name and murder their way out of future E.U. membership (not to worry, it'll blow over), the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas confirms Radical Liberals and The Pink Inverse Triangle in their conviction, that believers in the transcendental are indeed all deranged fundamentalists.

On Pride, Shame and Debauchery in the Emerald City

- Today I received from the American Jewish Committee an update on the Salah Choudhury situation. Apparently the Moral Courage Award has been handed out to Mr Choudhury. What fills me personally with anger is that my government is lavishing vast amounts of taxpayer's money (called development funds) on a country that abuses its citizens, is stifling freedom and tends to follow the ranks of what is now termed a new political system in the Islamic world that will prove to be every bit as bad as its predecessors. Here's the article in yesterday's Daily Star of Lebanon in re of National Islamism (make a mental note; I don't think we've heard the first and the last of this).

Here's the story on the Award:

Shoaib Salah Choudhury expressed deep appreciation to AJC for sending its Moral Courage Award to him through the U.S. Embassy in Bangladesh. "When I brought the plaque to my residence, my family was extremely delighted to see it. We have placed the plaque with respect in our living room, where the guests will have the opportunity of seeing it. Each time I see it, it gives me a kind of divine inspiration. And, every time, I remember especially Mr. David Harris and our friend Yehudit Barsky for kindly choosing me as the recipient of the award." AJC had attempted to honor Choudhury at the Centennial Annual Meeting in May 2006, but he was prevented from leaving Bangladesh and is now on trial for sedition because of his efforts to foster dialogue with Jews, to visit Israel and his opposition to radical Islam in Bangladesh. His trial is set to resume on January 22.

- On a similar note how Islamic countries are misusing so-called development funds against their benefactors. Lebanon's Daily Star has a report how Egypt is funding Al Qa'ida's P.R. requirements.

- This post isn't about a so-called "Peace Mum" who is exploiting the death of her son for narrow party political gains in a shameless fashion. Present pastime is proof she's also an activist and is displaying very awkward bereavement reactions.

- Here we have a worthy, except if you happen to be Venezuelan, in which case my commiserations. After Tony Blair's socialism by a third way proved to be unadulterated Tory politics, it seems that Hugo Chavez a.k.a. The Clown of the Caribbean, is now trying to get it done in yet a fourth manner. How many more ways do they need to concede at last that socialism doesn't work?!

- According to the E.U. Observer Spain and Luxemburg are calling for "pride" in the Constitution. They are right: pride is so much more important than acknowledging your religious, historical and cultural roots of two millennia! Pride is P.C., pride is neutral, pride is good (provided it doesn't lead to nationalistic tendencies, in which case we'll break out in a terrible rash: wait till the 21st and you'll see).

- The theme of today's post seems to be shame and pride. Here's one for the shame category: Recently I have been writing how the New Europe, the former East Block, is treated by Old Europe, which is an indecent shame. Al-Guardian provides us today with an excellent example. (What an awful rag is that! And me thinking the New Rotterdam Courant was the pits!)

- Townhall.com's columnist Star Parker is on the case of the defense of Oprah! Good for her! I'm so proud of her!

- Back to shame (and a bit of fun thrown in): journalist Rajiv Chandrasekaran, former Baghdad bureau chief for The Washington Post has published a book. It's all about the debauched life of the Americans in the Green Zone in Baghdad during the first year of the U.S. occupation. It's called Imperial Life in the Emerald City. In a recent interview on CNN he clarified the trouveille as follows: 'emerald' refers to the Green Zone (emeralds are green, you must know) and the Americans were displaying 'imperial' attitudes: they were sitting in Saddam's palaces, eating pork in the middle of an Islamic capital!
