Of Hive Minds and Group Souls: Marxism and Islamism
Here's a peek into the deluded world of Muslim conversion. As yet unbeknown to herself (I believe), lately I am given to follow the literary activities of a young female convert - one of 300 in Belgium alone. She has a university grade in higher Marxism, and is actually an activist posing as a journalist. (One wonders just how many of those are around!)
The first article I stumbled on, briefly appeared on the site of The Brunei Times: the word that comes to mind to describe it, is agit prop. It can now be accessed here. At present I have come across another article she authored for the Islamic press, an 'interview' with two other converts on the occasion of Belgian Convert Day, which seems to have taken place on 4th of March this year. Here's the Saudi Gazette with "My Daughter is a Muslim".
The 'discussion' - if it has actually taken place is immaterial - indicates quite nicely what the attractions of Islam are for some Leftist inclined people. I am suspecting the author is a sufferer of Narcissistic Awe, the underestimated form of Narcissism which does not mind enslaving the whole of humanity if they feel this is in the people's own best interest. Like all Narcissists they crave attention. Through identification with a victim group they can share the audience that this group is generating.
"There is not a dominant type of people that become converts. Converts come from all social and educational backgrounds. The strength of Islam is that they are all equal as Muslims."
The author doesn't seem to be aware of above psychological pathology that predisposes some people to identify with victim groups of the Marxist dialectic, or she might indeed be able point at a "dominant type of people".
"Equal as Muslims" underlines the call of egalitarian collectivism that never fails to attract the hive mind. It's as if this type of 'carbon based unit' instinctively feels the need to home back to the collective, the 'group soul' of the drove.
Apart from the aspects I mentioned in "The Unholy Alliance: Conflating the Three Great isms" this is a futher indication that the current form of Islam belongs to the family of subjectivist, collective Counter-Enlightenment ideologies (see also Chart I: The Straight Red Line), and one reason Muslims will never become "the new Joos", as some have suggested.
In a three part post on the pseudo religious aspects of the collectivist Counter-Enlightenment ideologies of the atheist variety, Communism and National Socialism, we saw that mass events were featuring highly on their indoctrination programs. The monotonous, rhythmic beat of a drum, or the cadence of a charismatic beloved leader-hierophant's prolonged speech, has the hypnotic effect that any right minded demagogue might be looking for. It is the opportunity to subliminally instill the message into the followers, a shot of ideological synchronizing of the watches, if you will. Islam's equivalents of course, are the Hajj and the blood fests associated with the Shia Day of Ashura.
Regarding the latter, Matthias Küntzel has written touchingly in "Ahmadinejad's World"; how the death cult based on Ashura (link to Time slide show) has sent half a million children into oblivion in mine fields, and wave after wave of underclass Iranians was shot to human pulp, in a way which even caused qualms in Saddam Hussein's battle hardened army.
"They come toward our positions in huge hordes with their fists swinging,” an Iraqi officer complained in summer 1982, “You can shoot down the first wave, and then the second. But at some point the corpses are piling up in front of you, and all you want to do is scream and throw away your weapon. Those are human beings, after all!”
In view of the blind sacrifices made in that war by the Basiji - the Iranian version of the Marxist proletariat - they have now been elevated to unofficial police, a sort of SA (Stormtroopers), enforcers of the Revolution and Ahmadinejad's regime apparatus. They are at present also manning the nuclear laboratories.
It is fascinating reading how the sense of 'original sin', originating in the Ashura story has been worked into today's Islamist policies of suicide bombings (the so-called martyrdom operations) and how the Muslim Brotherhood provided Sunnis with their own version.
Blood curling rather than fascinating is the Twelfth Imam dogma that underpins Ahmadinejad's apocalyptic teleology: the more the world is whipped into this Islamic version of political correctness, the sooner the Western Enlightenment notions as symbolised by the Jewish state are obliterated, the earlier this Messiah figure of the Mahdi will materialise, enabling the end game to begin.
This renders the nuclear doctrine of mutually assured destruction absolutely meaningless in this case. And this is why the political flippancy, that we'll just have to learn to live with a nuclear armed Iran, is so criminally ignorant.

9/11 Demo in Brussels: Open Letters & A Slap in the Face
First a reminder that the SIOE Petition to the Mayor of Brussels, Freddy Thielemans to allow the 9/11 rally "Stop Islamization of Europe" can be signed HERE.
Another petition, addressed to the Mayor of Londonistan for a SIOE activity in England, is available HERE.
Mayor Freddy "Champagne Charlie" Thielemans' prohibition of the Brussels rally is informative in more ways than one. He's not just showing his true totalitarian Socialist colours, not merely wiping his feet on the basic rights of indigenous Europeans, his prohibition is also a slap in the face of families that made personal sacrifices to ensure, that Europe would be democratic, and free of dictators with grandiose vistas of bringing about their version of a collective Utopia by coercion.
Consider the latest update from SIOE HQ: an open letter to Freddy Thielemans, reading:
"Dear Sir: You obviously need a historical reminder. My Father served in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. He and countless others sacrificed their youth and their lives, to give you and your fellow European citizens the very freedoms that you have enjoyed these past 60+ years ... Your denial of this protest is a very clear indication that Europe is once again on the threshold of falling to another group of fascist thugs. Who will help Europe to free themselves from the new brand of fascism – Islamic fascism?"
"... If the SIOE are not given permission to proceed with their demonstration, complaints will be lodged against the European Union with the Canadian government, and all European embassies located in Canada. Also, protests will be launched urging fellow citizens, including family members of World War II Veterans to boycott all products from the European Union and travel within those countries.
Jane Hand, Canada >>>
To which I might add that my family in all probability would not have been threatened with extinction, had my uncle - a medical student, and 22 years old at the time - not been shot down as a United States Air Force man over the Black Sea.
This is the face of a young man who might have lived, have had children and grandchildren, become a physician and saved lives, had it not been for the ideas and actions of collectivists of the like of Champagne Charlie. L'Histoire çe repète.
Another open letter, another slap in the face ... of another subjugated indigenous people, Egypt's Copts:
"Dear Mayor Thielemans,
Regarding your decision to ban the "Stop Islamisation Of Europe" demonstration ... I would like to remind you that there are many communities, other than Muslims, who have settled in Europe. Many of these communities have chosen Europe for their home because of its tolerance, democracy and free speech. Some of these have had to flee Islamic persecution ..."
NACA is "dismayed that you have unilaterally decided to ban the demonstration ... This goes against the principles of the European Union ... you are yourself culpable in the Islamisation of Europe ... It would have been far better if you had advised your Muslim constituents to either ignore the demonstration or better still to hold a peaceful counter demonstration on the 11th, or at some other time. If you fear violence from your Muslim citizens you would be far better employed in educating them as to Western values the rest of us enjoy and uphold.
Yours truly
Morris Sadek Esq >>>
Yes, terror works ... In the meantime in Copenhagen ... it takes more than the sad dhimmitude of a Socialist quisling to demoralize the intrepid Vikes:
"In the light of Brussels’ mayor Freddy Thielemans’s prohibitions of SIOE’s march 11/9:
We feel that Belgium as host country of the EU has a responsibility that E.U. citizens can express their concern for the E.U.’s decisions. Like any other dictator Thielemans has changed all this with a stroke of a pen. Meet up in front of Belgium’s embassy in Denmark on Friday August the 17th at 19.00 and participate in a peaceful demonstration for the freedom of expression in the E.U. and in Denmark.
Action group "Freedom of Speech NOW!"
Anders Gravers
SIOE Denmark >>>
Update on the coverage:
The Bloggers:
- Halal Pig International: "We'll March to Celebrate Freddy Thielemans' Birthday!"
- The invective on the Halal Pig French language site is screened behind a Blogger censor disclaimer (so incorrect, all those democratically expressed opinions!)
- The Belgian Hunter (De Jager) is pointing to a prior demo in Denmark and asks "Who's aggressive here?"
- Dutch politician Geert Wilders' Forum for Freedom is worried. The Forum lists a number of obstacles:
- The demo is being held mid-week, reason why many people shall not be able to participate.
- There is no direct political trigger for the march, for example impending European legislation expected to have a negative impact on further Islamization.
- Another problem is that Neo Nazis have already taken an interest. This was anticipated, reason why participants have been urged to observe the rules set out by the organization. This notwithstanding the trolls have already booked transportation. Regretfully the democratic anti Islamists have not managed to claim ownership and organize bus transport themselves. This can still happen. In any case it will be difficult to have the demo radiate the required message: Pro Democracy and Anti Islamization [siq]. (Otherwise Very Free translation.)
And the Rest of the Press:
- Investors.com: "Backlash Overdue" (!) - Recommended: a very interesting article with further evidence of Islamization.
- Cybercast News Service: "Anti-Shari'a March Banned, But 'Spontaneous' Actions Likely"
- HLN.Be: "Burgemeester verbiedt anti-Islambetoging in Brussel" (Flemish)

The Betrayal of God: Destruction from Within!
Today, 15th August - the Celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary - departing Bishop Muskens of the provincial Diocese of Breda in the southern Netherlands - is shocking us with a proposal for non Muslims to use the name of 'Allah' for God.
I have to give the reader fair warning: this is an interesting story if you're into it, but there are no abbreviations or short-cuts here.
The cleric's proposal is an education on a number of levels. At first sight his proposal isn't a contribution to 'the multicultural society' or a shot at syncretism, but rather a further step in the mono-cultural and mono-religious direction - of Islam, that is: a proposal to voluntarily give up the single most essential principle of Western culture, our name of God and all what that entails, presumably in exchange for .... what?
On an intellectual level the proposal is a typical Postmodern one: truth does not exist, all cultures/beliefs are equally valid. This ridiculous Marxist lie gives birth to the further fallacy, that everything under God's sky that shares a generic term, is by consequence 'the same'.
We touched on that yesterday, when we educated the Dutch in relation to the new Robert Spencer book "Religion of Peace? Why Christianity is and Islam isn't", that not all religions are 'the same'. Departing Bishop Muskens falls into the same trap with his proposal, which entails that Allah and God are fully synonymous and readily interchangeable.
Not being a theologian, it doesn't befit me to go into this very far, but obvious differences are that the Christian God is a threefold principle, who loves man, whom He created in His image, and - not without significance - is knowable, intelligible, which brings Natural Philosophy so far as to posit: the more Intelligible, the more Being.
Until Marxism taught us better by blessing us with minorities, this idea gave rise to the equality of all men - and by extension to human rights and democracy, to scientific enquiry (investigations into nature and the universe), and the idea - simply abhorred by Muslims and Postmoderns alike - that humanity progresses towards a teleological, predestined end game.
Allah on the other hand, is One and transcendental, flighty and chaotic, and is basically unknowable to us poor humans, who are His playthings, to dispose over as He sees fit.
An investigative short cut to Bishop Muskens relevant Wikipedia entry learns he didn't attend seminary. Well, it figures - also in relation to a number of things he has said in the past - he does seem to suffer from an intellectual lacuna which plays tricks on him at crucial times.
A few years ago the Red Bishop gave us the first shock, in admitting - in reference to wars and genocide - he has a problem with Christianity, stemming from the apparent existence of evil and injustice in the world. To him it doesn't follow that Goodness cannot even exist in the absence of Evil.
Catholic Scholasticism, which gave us Natural Philosophy (or Moral Law - Pope Benedict XVI is at present working on a popular re-introduction) is taught at seminaries, and teaches human voluntarism or free will, rendering such miseries not mischievous Acts of God, but simply the result of human action.
If men hadn't free will, how can we possibly come to any moral decisions? This lays the basis for the idea, that the only natural environment for man, is liberty. This being the reason why mentally and emotionally mature people prefer freedom over Statism and Collectivism.
Those ideas obviously aren't part of the Red Bishop's theological tool kit. The cleric has made a habit out of transmitting the wrong message. A few years back, at the time of an economic downturn, he came up with the morally deplorable missive that it is "okay for the poor to steal a loaf of bread".
That was probably not what he literally said - and apparently it is part of Catholic morality provided the choice is misappropriation or starvation - but in a rich country like the Netherlands where dying of hunger isn't an issue, his words in practice meant that it was acceptable to defraud the state, if that could get you a social security benefit.
So now we are faced with the Bishop's proposal of dhimmitude. Reactions to his words are mixed, but it figures that the chairman of the Dutch Muslim Council "has no problem with it" and that the difference between the two is "in the details"; I dare say that - seen from the perspective of a sterile religion, the scientific approach to Creation, liberty and human rights, might seem mere details - they are however the essential substance of Western existence!
That bastion of Marxist Catholicism, the peace movement Pax Christi, thinks the proposal is 'worth further deliberation in such polarizing times' (that's probably after they've gotten over the regret, they haven't thought of it themselves!).
The site of the Diocese of Breda goes into historical, linguistic and cultural detail [1] and it is of course very reassuring to read that 'Allah' has really very little to do with Muslims, Islam or the Koran, as this name of God already existed before the Islamic conquest. But that explanation begs the question, what then - for crying out loud - is the meaning of the proposal in the first place?
To placate the Copts and other 'oriental Christians' so that they don't take to the Arab streets, shouting Hell and Brimstone over some perceived grievances, while committing arson and murder in the process? What a load of BS!
The poison has been in the bloodstream for decades: after Red Catholicism and Liberation Theology, thank Heaven! we've got dhimmitude as a vehicle to destroy the Roman Church from within (see Chart II: the Subversion Program).
Red Bishop Muskens is about to join a monastery to spend the last days of his activist life growing giant cauliflowers, or brewing monastic ale, or perhaps playing a significant role in the production of traditional monastic cheese, but I dare say - for Catholicism his goodbye doesn't come a moment too soon. At least Pope Benedict XVI will have one relativist element less to deal with.
The clarification on the site of the Diocese of Breda concludes with the assertion that if Muslims and Christians address God with the same name, "this contributes to harmonious living together." I posit that quite the opposite is the case, and that it would be far better if - instead of proposals to merge - we would engage in actions of mutuality and respect.

Islam: It's Your Day Today!
First today's reminder that the SIOE Petition to the Mayor of Brussels, Freddy "Champagne Charlie" Thielemans, to allow the 9/11 rally "Stop Islamization of Europe" can be signed HERE.
Another petition, addressed to Mad Red Ken in Londonistan for a SIOE activity in England, is available HERE.
Here's the latest update from SIOE HQ: "Brussels Mayor gags free speech because Muslims might be offended" >>>
... stressing that September is a particularly auspicious time of the year for visiting Brussels' cultural sites!
Bloggers weigh in:
- Atlas Shrugs: Peaceful 9/11 rally banned in Brussels!
- The Brussels Journal: Thank You Mr Mayor: Champagne for Everyone!
- Gallia Watch: Demonstration Banned!
...
and the Rest of the Press:
- Expatica: Dewinter insists on anti-Islam Protest
- 7 Sur 7: Manifestation anti Islam Interdite
- Chiesa has fascinating read for the historically inclined (counter-Jihadist): "How the Eight Hundred Men of Otranto Saved Rome"
They were martyred five centuries ago in the easternmost region of Italy, the spot most exposed to attack from the Muslims. The objective of the caliph Mohammed II was to conquer Rome, after having already taken Constantinople. But he was stopped by Christians who were ready to defend the faith with their blood >>>
- The Daily Mail in "No sex, please, you're a carnivore" illustrate wonderfully just how seriously out of control Postmodern, 'magical' thinking has got. I'm still struggling to make up my mind what's worse: the substance of the article, or the comments.
- Good news for (postmodern) Dutch, who desperately need an education on this point! Folks in the delta, not all subjects sharing a generic term - religion in this case - are "the same". Robert Spencer has a new book release: "Religion of Peace? Why Christianity is and Islam isn't". Atlas Shrugs weighs in. And by the way, moral neutrality is a myth: it doesn't exist! Likewise Atheism, isn't synonymous with religious neutrality: it is the belief (!) that God doesn't exist. In Dutch parlance: atheism isn't a neutral realm in which all the other "zuilen" exist, it is a "zuil" itself, capiche?

9/11 Demo in Brussels: We Shall Overcome!
The SIOE organization predicts that on 11th September the Belgian capital Brussels, seat of the European Union, will be a little more crowdy than usual this year.
- Christian pilgrims are going to Brussels to visit the religious places of interest: Brussels cathedral and the old churches that litter the historic centre of Brussels.
- Tourists will flock to the outdoor cafes and pubs around the vast square of the Grote Markt (or Grand Place) for a pint of Jupiler.
(Who will be curiously absent are nationalists and extremists.)
As if by serendipity, a great number of visitors will remember that day the old gospel song of protest, that speaks of the promise of liberty, of freedom from slavery and oppression: "We Shall Overcome".
As long as people will not see, that the chains of servitude have been replaced by the shackles of Collectivism - because the mentality of slaves is such, that the uncertainties and responsibilities that come with liberty, fill him with a paralyzing fear - we shall not be free but always seek to impose new tyrants to calm the irrational phobias.
In Europe it has been like that since Rousseau made the fundamental mistake that man - in the absence of God, the magnate that predisposes him towards the good - would instead descend into a ruthless struggle for personal supremacy, Brussels Socialist mayor Freddy Thielemans' "onmenselijke logica van het profijt", the inhuman logic of profit.
Is it any wonder he prohibits the march of free people who stand up for human autonomy - liberty as described by John Locke, de Montesquieu, de Tocqueville, Adam Smith and John Stuart Mill?
The slaves have found a sedative for their fear of freedom in Collectivism and Egalitarianism, which they erroneously believe is the 'common good'. Their demand we all submit to it - to honour the commonality - should tell them something of the character of their ideology.
Radical Islam is but the latest in a long line of ideological panaceas for a non-existent evil: the result of man's distrust of himself. Consider the words of an essayist we'll hear more of in these pages, Wildmonk:
"... the "common will" that Rousseau developed ... (f)ar from being a moderating influence and a force for preventing the excesses of Capitalism, (it) became the most savage, bloody instrument of oppression in the history of mankind".
The Reign of Terror during the French Revolution, the Russian Revolutions, Communism and Socialism in its various other guises, National Socialism (Nazism), China's Great Leap Forward, Cambodia (the latter two thanks to Rousseau's peaceful agrarian tribalism): this is the track record of Counter-Enlightenment ideology. The figures are staggering! Communism alone is good for 110 million dead, casualties of World War II as a result of Nazism, 72 million!
It should put to deep shame the Left's perpetual meme of egalitarian Collectivism's moral high ground!
Wildmonk: "The conclusion is inescapable that Rousseau's multi-headed hydra is genocidal in its practice regardless of its justification in philosophy. Nonetheless, Rousseau's philosophical descendants enjoy considerable support in both American and European academia and among the European media and political elite. Genocide is no deterrent to this support ..."
With this state of conduct the remnants of Egalitarianism, answering to the ridiculous abbreviation, Pomo (Postmoderns), would have us quietly submit to the latest Collectivist concoction, their Unholy Alliance with Radical Islam (see Chart I: The Straight Red Line) under the threat of senseless violence and terrorism.
It's well known they've done away with history, which in their linguistic tradition of hysterical hyperbole is characterised as "just waive after waive of ethnic cleansing". That's probably a good second after hecatomb after hecatomb on the alter of man's fear of himself, of what he'd become, if genuinely free? And so the vicious circle of the delusion of 'forced submission to the common good' perpetuates itself.
Why not celebrate the new millennium with true human progress: let's convince our misguided, fearful brethren of their persistent common error: come visit Brussels on 9/11 and sing away the demons of phobia that keep them shackled to their chains: We Shall Overcome The Fear of Ourselves ... Some Day!

The Marxist Revival (8): Hysterically Moving the Goal Posts
First a reminder that the Petition to the Mayor of Brussels to allow the 9/11 rally "Stop Islamization of Europe" can be signed HERE.
I posit that - apart from considerations, such as public safety - the same Postmodern mechanism, at work in the redistribution of free speech, is also applied in the indefinite suspension of the civil rights of Europe's indigenous peoples: so-called 'levelling the playing field' by lumbering the supposedly stronger party with 'handicaps', viz. no demos directed towards minorities!
~ Continued from Part 7: Of Reversed Sophistry & Mythical Creatures ~
But back to the present series on the peculiarities of Postmodernism (or crypto cultural Marxism) as we are looking at the use of language, speech in particular. Two other aspects of speech tactic left to analyse, are the use of generalizations and the apparent shifting of the rules in mid-play.
Thus when a Postmodern's opponent commits a generalization, for example in categorizing the behaviour of one small group of deranged terrorists together with all the other well-meaning, peace loving Muslims in naming urban Jihad, Islamic terrorism, this is considered "unfairly lumping all Muslims together".
If however, the boot is on the other foot and it is Postmoderns (Pomos, in Pomo lingo) that are categorizing all white males as rapists, this is perfectly acceptable.
It is the widely used tactic of moving the goalposts in mid-play, at least, so it would seem to objective people. This however is a mistake: it is erroneously assumed that both parties use the same rule book, but nothing could be further from the truth, as we shall see on the next instalment. It all has to do with the redistribution of free speech and the levelling of the playing field by lumbering the supposedly stronger party with handicaps, moving from equality of opportunity, to equality of outcome: a time honoured Leftist pastime!
All that surprising stuff is apart from the fourteen ordinary, day-to-day fallacies (PMFs) already identified - the result of Postmodern or Subjectivist thinking, of which innocent bystanders by force of habit, or pressure of fashion, might have become a victim. Conscious adherents are beyond such a simple aide. They are strongly advised to seek professional medical assistance which might entail years of analysis as the entire cerebral edifice of orthologics is rebuild from scratch.
Dr Sanity recently discovered a typical problem of a psychological nature, that is the result of the philosophical basic lie of Subjectivism. Consider her post "It's Official, the Left is Completely Hysterical":
"Hysteria is a concept characterized by a wide variety of physical and mental symptoms that result from dissociating one's cognitive functioning from one's emotion and/or behavior. The psychological defense that makes this happen is known as dissociation ... (unmanageable and excessive) emotions are primary and are not subject to an objective reality ..."
"This is a world where there is no objective reality or truth ... if you believe something is true, then it is ... something can be "fake but accurate" or ... captured enemy combatants in the middle of a war are ... in a "gulag" or ... a "religion of peace" beheads people ..."
"Mass hysteria occurs when large groups of people engage in psychological dissociation; and political mass hysteria ... when all the emotional excitability and excess happen to serve a political function or ideological agenda."
It's all mighty interesting, and a personal as well as a political tragedy. But the philosophical problem for Postmoderns is, that the charges of delusion cannot be reversed, as they are so fond to do. The good doctor:
"Probably the first prerequisite for accusing someone of engaging in self-delusion is that one must accept that there is an objective reality, external and independent to one's self; one's beliefs or one's emotions or feelings. Without such a fundamental epistemological foundation, it is completely meaningless to accuse anyone of self-delusion, although postmodern intellectuals do it all the time".
"As they wallow in their preferred form of social subjectivism, it is perfectly "reasonable" (if that is the word) from their perspective to impute delusion to others--even if every time they do so, they effectively demonstrate the invalidity of their own philosophy. That is why it is so amusing to observe their appropriation of the term "reality-based community" -- when they don't believe in any reality except for their own emotions!"
She's spot on, as usual! Serves you right, Pomo! It's not entirely all roses when you flush reality down the water works! Or is this just another mythical manifestation that comes with the Pomo territory? After the paradoxymoron now perhaps a realivorus, or an objectiraptor, who's to say?
As far as the tactics in the language and attitude department are concerned we have identified: fibs and lies (technically don't exist for Subjectivists: no truth, no lie - very practical), gross exaggeration and hyperbole, genuine or functional hatred and hysterics (rage, rage, rage), emotional blackmail, incitement to violence, sentimental whining, false analogy, (reversed) sophistry, manipulation, incivility and ad hominem attacks, deliberate para-exegese (angry is being unreasonable, doubt is denial, aversion is hatred, etc.), another fallacy as a result of massive imprecision - the lack of orthologics - and the unremitting (and sometimes deliberate) confusion of terms: very often the tactical mixing of facts with opinion.
One such curious example I found in my Inbox yesterday, in an unsolicited acquisition letter from Amazon.com, proudly announcing the establishment of yet another virtual paradise of subjectivity: the virtual community, "a fun place to meet other people with similar interests, share your knowledge, or learn new things in topics you love!"
"To get a taste of Askville, one of our more popular topic communities: The History Topic Community. Below are some actual questions asked by real people (my emphasis) in the History topic:
- "Where can I find a good book about Henry IV of France?"
- "Who were the five greatest American presidents since Lincoln?"
- "Does the presence of US troops in Iraq fuel terrorism?"
That last question shot me seething, straight into a virtual realm of fun, play and knowledge sharing. It proved to be almost entirely inhibited by autonomous Pomos. I'll spare you the details, but it was a surreal experience. The person responsible for the text of that mail is of course a Head Marketing Communication, a live person hiding behind a customer repellent defense system, made up of a barricade of technology - bots and automatons - combined with the corporate policy, known in jargon as the "customer peeping system": the motte and bailey of the new media.
I don't want to waste more time and energy on the matter than it warrants: from this particular soap box I'll have Amazon.com's Head Marcom know that "the opinion of a vast number of Americans" is not to be confused with fact. Fact is something for objective people, who know the sun will rise tomorrow, even if they're not watching it in person!
The next instalment will take us to the Postmodern tactic of moving the goal posts in mid-play, and as discovered by Stephen Hicks as early as 2002, Pomo's war on free speech.
~ To be continued in Part 9: Why the Mayor of Brussels Gags Free Speech, "The Leftist policy now comes back to haunt us, as Pomo is using the principle to suppress free speech, and turn the Western world in an intellectual graveyard as the individual freedom to pursue knowledge throught debate, critique and free enquiry, is being suppressed". ~

The Excitement of Silly Season: Brussels & Kosovo
In some political circles it is said that it is especially during silly season -
when the attention span under the combined pressures of sand, sea and sun is at its lowest - that a hyper state of alert is required: it is then when the dangers of irreversible, accomplished facts on the ground, are at their highest. So, despite the low ebb there are a few noteworthy news items circulating.
- SIOE 9/11 Update:
The mayor of Brussels has declined to give his blessings to the "Stop Islamization of Europe" demo planned for 9/11 on the grounds that "public safety cannot be guaranteed". I think this poses a serious problem. It lays bare to what extent the enlightened dictatorship in the European Uni
on has progressed. Obviously, the prospects of security conditions for the rally getting any better by themselves in the foreseeable future, are negligible.
This means that the civil rights of a large chunk of citizens will have to be suspended indeterminately. This is clearly unacceptable. I do hope the SIOE organization will stay in touch with the Brussels authorities and press on to them that civil rights cannot be suspended forever. Perhaps the mayor can offer a counter proposition?
Update: I just had the opportunity to read some of the comments on the SIOE site. Although no pleasure, it's an education! The combined forces of Radical Islam and the scions of the collective Counter-Enlightenment have already established entire Sharia enclaves. The question is: how many more? Why do free citizens use the term 'haram'? Think about it ...
Update on the update: The Petition in favour of the rally, addressed to the mayor of Brussels, can be signed here. I request anybody who's sympathetic to its cause to sign it - no matter how remote you are from Brussels (physically I'm some 3000 kilometers removed, but mentally the distance can only be measured in lightyears).
- Kosovo Update:
"The great powers are set to kick-start a new set of talks on Kosovo's future on Friday, though with dim prospects of a solution acceptable to both Serbs and Kosovo Albanians. The Contact Group of the United States, Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy is sending a trio of diplomats - American Frank Wisner, Russian Alexandar Botsan-Kharchenko and German Wolfgang Ischingert, representing the EU - to do the mediating." >>>
"Serbia is ready to grant broad autonomy to Kosovo, but only if the province remains under Serbian sovereignty, the president of a parliamentary commission said Monday. Dusan Prorokovic, head of the commission for Kosovo and Metohija, made the statement ahead of a Contact Group meeting in Belgrade for preliminary consultations Thursday." >>>
"Kosovo warned on Wednesday of rising Albanian tension and eventual street protests, on the eve of fresh talks ... Senior ethnic Albanian political leader Veton Surroi said the patience of Kosovo's ninety percent Albanian majority was not "limitless," and protests "could not be excluded" if independence is delayed much longer." >>>

Mayor of Brussels Blackballs 9/11 SIOE Rally
(Socialist Party) has let be known a short while ago through a press release, that the Danish organization of the "Stop Islamization of Europe" (SIOE) rally scheduled for 9/11, can consider itself banned on the grounds that "public safety cannot be guaranteed."The latter, says the organization in a post on their blog, is proof that such action, is long overdue.
"SIOE’s message through the 4 slogans is exactly to warn against conditions such as these, where people no longer can use their freedom of expression and feel secure, but the shocking facts are that these conditions already reign at the heart of the EU.Hear, hear!
SIOE’s demonstration will of course happen, as a peaceful utterance of opinion, an utterance of opinion for which Moslems have countless times received permission to demonstrate in Brussels.
Therefore it is, of course, completely absurd to ban a peaceful demonstration because they are afraid of violent muslim counter-demonstrators! The mayor in Brussels is not fully aware of his responsibility, for as a mayor at EU’s capital you cannot simply forbid ordinary European citizens to express their constitutional freedoms.
Were he mayor in Antwerp or any other town in Belgium, he would equally have to allow the freedom of expression to exist, but precisely a Socialist mayor at EU’s capital has a greater responsibility, not just to Brussels’ own citizens, but also to the citizens of the EU as a whole. You must expect
that when the capital in the EU is called Brussels. It will it be necessary for the people to influence politicians in Brussels, among other things through demonstrations and delivery of petitions.
And if that is not enough, we've also got to deal with:
Media in the Netherlands are suppressing news about the plans altogether.

Laurels for Journalistic Courage
This blog, for some time now, has been strongly decrying the present day, overtly biased journalistic efforts as practiced by the mainstream media (MSM), in violation of any professional code that may stand in the way of the new calling!
At present limiting ourselves to an European example, journalism has allowed the E.U., and in turn national government spokespersons, to enact Orwell's 1984 new speak, guiding them on the use of terminology and idiom: which words are allowed and which are deemed politically incorrect, and thus blacklisted by the boys in Brussels.
Here's but the latest reporting: a post by Conservative Beach Girl on the role of the MSM in the Beslan matter. I predict it will shortly reach the point of active aiding and abetting! The BBC in Gaza has practically become a party.
Self-censorship and suppression of 'undesirable' news items is regretfully, today, normalcy in journalistic circles. The self-confessed bias of the erstwhile icon of independent quality journalism, the BBC, has reached such infamy that it may even pride itself on a number of dedicated blogs, exclusively following the beeb's sad track record.
Spin and manipulation of the public have become the merchandise of the mainstream media; political activism a second nature, not standing in the way of professional reporting.
It therefore stands out like a honest newspaper in Oceania when a bread-and-butter news site like the Irish Independent is publishing a reality-based report on the encroaching Islamization that is taking the West by stealth.
In the article, "Forget lily-livered liberalism, time to take stand and say we don't want Muslim immigrants", the Independent is indeed doing just that - Hat tip Foehammer's Anvil
Lest we be accused of bias on the side of Islamophobia, xenophobia, racism, jingoism, culturalism, or whatever other divisive term the neo totalitarians can think up in order to control the masses and public opinion to enforce soft submission, herewith again the usual caveats and disclaimers towards peaceful, freedom loving Muslims living in our midst, who also decry Al Qaeda c.s. for what they are.
Which reminds me to draw some attention to a recent post by Dr Sanity, analyzing the current predicament. I think the following describes beautifully and incisively the violence a defender's soul must endure in order to preserve freedom against a ruthless enemy ... "they have deliberately brought civilization to a "time beyond human wisdom."
"When we are finally cornered and must allow our own barbarism to surface to combat theirs head to head, then we must be prepared to live with the consequences, including the agonizing guilt that will ensue, or everything we hold dear, everything we aspire to become, will forever perish from this earth.""We could have lived with them, did they not insist that we must become what they are or die. But it is they who have defined the ground rules (or the non-rules) of this conflict; and it is they who have set the playing ..."

The Marxist Revival (6): the Queen of Rage & Ludicrous Equation
~ Continued from Part 5: Political Justifcation to Violence ~
Genuine or functional hatred and hysteria, the rage, rage, rage as cultivated by the Left brings us to an author of the finest in the tradition of the surreal equation, in which she excels and possibly even might claim original authorship of: Virginia Woolf.
Theodore Dalrymple decries the icon of women's literature Three Guineas as the locus classicus of self-pity and victimhood and suggests an alternative title: "How to be Privileged and Yet Feel Extremely Aggrieved". It is well known that the proletariat doesn't cause revolutions: that's the prerequisite of the middle class scions: the spoiled brats of the elite, the Osama bin Ladens, the Mohammed Attas and the Virginia Woolfs of this world.
Privileged she undoubtedly was, daughter of Sir Leslie Stephen, an eminent essayist, editor and critic, founder of the Dictionary of National Biography and publisher of Thomas Hardy. Her uncle, Sir James Fitzjames Stephen was an eminent legal scholar, historian, judge and political philosopher.
Dalrymple: "As a female member of the British upper middle class and one of what she called "the daughters of educated men" she felt both socially superior to the rest of the world and peculiarly, indeed uniquely, put upon". Throughout she laments her position, in so close proximity of learned men, with whom she couldn't compete. She attributed this to English society, unable as she was - like most very stupid people - to detect her own naturally diminished mental capacity.
Current Postmoderns (Pomos) must have taken several leaves out of the Woolf book, as she is no doubt the uncrowned queen of the ludicrous equation and false analogy; of logic so bent it could put the kitchen plumbing to shame.
Be that as may, she did discover single-handedly the secret to world peace! Get this: Throughout the ages warfare has been a male activity, during which time men have suppressed women. Were men to see the error of their ways and consider women their equals (you see what feats of logic can be accomplished once you set your mind to it), the will to war would vanish as by miracle.
Woolf's contribution to education foresaw in the establishment of a college building that was to be erected out of cheap, easily combustible material, that wouldn't tend to hoard dust, needlessly perpetuating despised traditions. That would lead only to vice, folly, cruelty and the suppression of women. The pictures and books would be new and always changing: a living testimony that the new is always better than the old by mere virtue of its novelty.
The university of Wordsworth, Milton and Wittgenstein was to teach only the arts that can be taught cheaply and practiced by 'poor people': medicine, mathematics, music, painting and literature, human intercourse and empathy (the latter perhaps a forerunner of multicultural theory, that no doubt shall become a compulsory subject taught in elementary schools in the very near future).
The little arts of talk, dress and cookery would be taught to lift women out of their limited domestic environments! The college would of course prevent wars, and not be elitist, competitive or judgmental in the slightest. One would perpetually immerse oneself in the tepid bath of self-esteem, mutual congrats and benevolence.
This self-indulgence stands in marked and familiar contrast to the habitual Marxist intolerance towards The White Patriarch. Monetary contributions toward the old system would be earmarked "rags, petrol, matches" with the message "... burn the college to the ground ... set fire to the old hypocrisies ... let the light of the burning building scare the nightingales and incarnadine the willows. And let the daughters of educated men dance around the fire and heap armful upon armful of dead leaves upon the flames. And let their mothers lean from the upper windows (presumably to be rescued at a later stage by invisible cloned pet proletarians, reminiscent of Lady Chatterley's lover) and cry "Let it blaze! Let it blaze! For we have done with this education!".
Unrestrained emotions and high strung aesthetics notwithstanding, Woolf leaves our contemporary Pomos far behind in the use of false analogies and the inability to distinguish metaphor from literal truth. Dalrymple: She "... collapse[s] all relevant moral distinctions, a technique vital to all schools of resentment ...
- Both the British policeman and the Nazi stormtrooper wore a uniform", rendering them both brutes;
- English society - so unfair to daughters of educated men - was proto Nazi, if not worse;
- A commentator who blamed the employment of women for the mass unemployment among men, was called the embryo of a Dictator, with a reference to Mussolini and Hitler: "Where is the difference? Are they not saying the same thing?"
- Discussing the struggle of women's emancipation: "It is true that the combatants did not inflict flesh wounds; chivalry forebad; but you will agree that a battle that wastes time is as deadly as a battle that wastes blood";
- Topped up with equating the Church of England with the German Nazi Party;
- If England doesn't know what it wants, the only alternative is fascism;
- There is no real difference between a university degree convocation and a Nuremberg rally;
- The dictatorship against Jews and women coming from Oxford, Cambridge, Whitehall and Downing Street is 'the same' as current in Germany, Italy and Spain.
- A club not admitting women members is the same as Nazi death camp Treblinka.
It goes on and on, unremittingly! Dalrymple: "It is one of the chief characteristics of [post]modern (my editing) rhetoric, designed not so much to find the truth as (in the words of former Australian prime minister Gough Whitlam) to 'maintain the rage'."
"One would hardly guess from reading Three Guineas that it was written at a uniquely dangerous historical juncture, in the shadow of a barbaric threat", in 1938. The same can be said of present Pomos: their fallacies and destructive instincts are eating away at the West's self-defense at a time when it is under threat from a number of sides, least of which not the pressures of mass immigration and the overt menace emanating from Radical Islam.
If worst comes to worst we can rely on Pomo to act as Mrs Woolf advises all women to do, should it come to war with Germany: "Since it was evidently a matter of indifference if the Nazis won (every British male being already a virtual Nazi), the answer was obvious to Mrs Woolf: they should do nothing ... not to fight with arms ... refuse to make munitions or nurse the wounded (the prospect of which would only be a perverse incentive to fight!) ... to maintain an attitude of complete indifference" and echoing a speech by the mayoress of Woolwich: "... would not even so much as darn a sock to help in a war."
Dalrymple: "Had Mrs Woolf survived to our time, however, she would at least have had the satisfaction of observing that her cast of mind - shallow, dishonest, resentful, envious,
snobbish, self-absorbed, trivial, philistine, and ultimately brutal - had triumphed among the elites of the Western world."

The Marxist Revival (5): Political Justification to Violence
~ Continued from Part 4: The Assault on Free Speech ~
In Part 1 "The Lie at the Bottom" we saw that the basis of the strategy for spreading crypto Marxist ideology is the lie of the Primacy of Consciousness [1]. On a tactical level we find language, which to Postmoderns (Pomo) isn't the transfer of objective information from one person to another, but nothing much else besides rhetoric, propaganda, populism, demagoguery.
This is the probable reason why they are always ready to accuse others of such practices. The person emanating the 'sounds' (or soundwaves, or noise, a.k.a. speech) or text, tries to persuade his (or her) audience of his (or her) personal version of reality by any means at his (or her) disposal.
It's actually a secret for obvious reasons, but Pomo sees conflicts between groups as unavoidable: would one believe in objective truth (as non Pomos do), one would consider their messages of peace, harmony and diversity - the promotion of the multicultural society - a gross hypocrisy and a despicable lie!
It is in fact this conflict - after Rousseau, Nietzsche and Schopenhauer, and in the absence of free will and God [1] (another minor challenge for the Emergent Pomo Church), that generates change and growth in the world of the Counter-Enlightenment. Here's one who makes no secret of his wish to erect Marx' Utopia on the ashes of the impending cataclism!
Given that fateful conflict, Pomo use language primarily as a weapon, which - apart from Koukl's Passive-Aggressive Tolerance Trick affecting innocents and misguided bystanders alike - explains the often unreasonable nature of a 'debate' with Pomo.
Take their idol Karl Marx, the central figure of their pantheon, the incarnation of 'tolerance': this piece of sarcasm on my part instantly provides us with an example of Pomo speech; they are very fond of calling for tolerance, by which they mean that their opponents must practice it, not they themselves; it thus serves as a means to subdue the adversary - clever, eh?
Marx' incitement to violence, or political justification to violence, present legal term: 'hate speech':
For obvious reasons I am not going into the theory of scientific Socialism here, but will concentrate on the application of language. To place Pomo in the correct perspective I propose to start off with a quote from Pomo's main contemporary high-priest, Jacques Derrida, inventor of 'deconstruction":
"Deconstruction never had meaning or interest ... [other] than as radicalization, that is to say, also within the tradition of a ... certain spirit of Marxism".
My personal copy of Karl Marx' Manifesto had been sitting, gathering dust on a bookshelf for some thirty odd years while I couldn't bring myself to reading it; in the end it didn't survive the last move into exile. But I take Theodore Dalrymple's word for it, as one who has lived it from childhood, when he writes:
"... we enter a world of infinite bile - of rancor, hatred, and contempt ... incite to violence ... the hecatombs his followers piled up are - to the last million victims - implicit in the Manifesto ... anyone opposed to the interests of the Communists must by definition be opposed to the interests of the proletariat. Moreover, since the Communists 'openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions', it follows that Lenin and Stalin were perfectly right in eliminating their opponents by force" ...
... superfluous political justification for irrational violence with a view of establishing social change - as Revolution to overthrow the perceived hegemony of the Oppressor was already provided by Rousseau, as we have seen in "The Straight Red Line (5): Love of Islam, Loathing of Self" ..."... and since ... the ideas that people have, are determined by their position in the economic structure of society, it is not even necessary for them to declare their enmity ... the killing of the kuluks was the practical application of Marxist epistemology"."The Manifesto makes no mention of individual human life ... there are no individuals, or true humans, at all". In the bipolar world of Marx there are only two categories: the upperclass of the bourgeois, and the underclass of proletarian armies of clones, the Oppressor and the Oppressed.
Translated into contemporary Pomo: The White Patriarch (rich, powerful, Christian, white, males) and minorities (everybody else). Marx' theory foresaw in the redistribution of Power and Capital, Pomo redistributes Power and Free Speech. In Pomos simplistic bipolar world, it's all 'the same': violence generating change and growth.

The Marxist Revival (4): the Assault on Free Speech
~Continued from Part 3: The Marxist Revival: The All Purpose Invective~
Reading through the next instalments on the special relationship between language and Neo Marxism - also known as Postmodernism (Pomo) - we have to keep in mind the recent revelation: an article adapted from a lecture address given by Stephen Hicks at The Objectivist Center during the 2002 (!) Summer Seminar: Pomo's Declaration of War on free speech.
It is beyond me why Hicks' discovery, done within the walls of American universities, wasn't picked up by the professionals in our societies, those whom we are paying to keep the general public abreast of such developments. The subject has become a particularly hot topic as laws governing so-called 'hate speech' are proliferating. As it turns out, this is Pomo's attempt at 'redistributing' free speech among unequal groups, at the expense of The Oppressor, through the soft power of political correctness. Hate speech laws are having kittens around the Western world, potentially turning it into an intellectual desert as debate and free enquiry are stifled. More about this all important subject in later instalments of this series.
Herbert Marcuse in 1974 made good on his threat, uttered after the failed Marxist revolutions of 1967 and 1968: "It will be resurrected in the universities". It is now filling the corridors of power, criminalizing opposing views, poisoning younger generations, and perverting Liberalism even further, as Leftist politics is by now fully usurped by Pomo.
Many have wondered: what's with the gross hyperbole, the unreasonable generalizations, from the downright insulting to the quasi sentimental baby-talk? "All hetero-sexual males are rapists", "Zionists are Nazis", "History is one wave of ethnic cleansing after another", alternated with dramatic, sentimental tugging of the heart strings.
Surreal equations abound, like: Hitler had a mustache, Stalin had a mustache, Hitler is the same as Stalin; a fundamental fallacy only forgivable if perpetrated by very young children. An exaggeration? Try this one. Speech is a weapon, because the sound-waves are beating against the eardrums. Heterosexuality, ditto an act of violence. Ayaan Hirsi Ali's polemics against Radical Islam have rendered her a 'warrior', an equation potentially endangering her life. Heck, I am even doing it myself as my fingers touch the keyboard, turning them into an entire arsenal of pyrotechnic weaponry with the purpose of vaporising Pomo.
This German cartoon "American Way" is equating a death cult suicide Jihadi with an the Americans' right to bear arms, a good illustration of Pomo's infantile inability to distinguish one essential difference from another: here, intent, legal status and ... hey, let's make this a "find the differences"! The winner, detecting the most, gets a copy of Hicks' "Explaining Pomo".
Another live example was Keith Ellison's recent irresponsible remarks involving 9/11 and the Reichstag. Where Pomo comes crawling in, reason takes flight by the backdoor!
And here it is again - that gross piece of Pomo 'art' - a measure of the perpetual scatological phase they cannot seem to outgrow; flea
size, so the viewer can make his own choice whether the stomach is up to it.
To sane people this imagery has no relation with the real world whatsoever, but they just might persuade a few psychologically immature specimens of alternate reality in which pigs may fly. When just reading an introduction written by someone with the oxymoronic pen-name Badchristian, it occurred to me that the whole Emergent Church thing is probably hippy grandfathers' way of repenting before swapping the temporary with the permanence of the strawberry fields in heaven - as usual misguided, as they have been during the whole of their sad lives.
As seen in part 3 on the extraordinary Postmodern attitude towards language it is in keeping with the crypto Marxist principles in general - the lofty cause justifying any means - the rejection of morality by way of the denial of objective reality and truth [1], coating deliberate lies with an ineffective layer of intellectual justification. I cannot think why they bother.
As language is used as a weapon to convert or vanquish, no tactic is left untried. We will in due course have a look at a number of them, some methods and a few authors as well.
~ To be continued in Part 5: "Political Justification to Violence"... incitement to violence, or political justification to violence, hate speech ... we enter a world of infinite bile - of rancor, hatred, and contempt ... the hecatombs his followers piled up are - to the last million victims - implicit in the Manifesto ..." ~
